3 Books For The Last Quarter Of 2023
October, November and December are on the way and here is a book recommendation for each month.
đ Thanks in advance for reading this review. Itâs part of a series called "Book Club" where I curate insights and ideas from my favourite books.
Time is flying, and 2024 is just a couple of months away!
A few of us have started making plans for the upcoming year already, and others are busy reviewing the progress made so far this year.
If youâre crashing on your reading goals for 2023 - good for you, congratulations. But if for some reason life happened and now youâre struggling to even reach half of the reading list, this article is for you.
âDo what you can, with what you have, where you are.â â Theodore Roosevelt
Firstly, I would like to say that it is completely fine and that you shouldnât feel discouraged. Very often things donât go the way we plan.
Secondly, before discussing the way forward, take time to understand why you couldnât keep up with your reading goals; Time management? An unrealistic number of books? Unexpected events? Whatever the reason is, acknowledge it, learn from it and move on.
Thirdly, there are two approaches you could take for the remaining quarter of the year:
Select the top three books from your current reading list that you really want to read.
Move your current reading list to your 2024 goals and use the recommendations from this article instead.
I had a hard time thinking about the books I could recommend. I didnât know exactly which selection criteria to use. After much consideration, I chose three books that I believe are strongly aligned with the reason weâre here: to become better human beings every single day. This is only possible, I believe, if we are fully aware of who we are and our gifts to the world.
I hope these books take you through an inner journey of self-discovery and help you end 2023 a better person than when the year started.
The Alchemist, by Paulo Coelho
Journey with Santiago, a shepherd boy, as he embarks on a quest for a treasure in the Egyptian pyramids. Along the way, the author weaves a tale of self-discovery, destiny, and the universal language of the heart.
This philosophical masterpiece will encourage you to follow your dreams, embrace the unknown, and recognize that the journey itself holds the greatest riches. A heads up - this is my favourite book of all time.
Think and Grow Rich, by Napoleon Hill
A timeless classic on the power of mindset. Drawing from the experiences of successful individuals like Thomas Edison and Henry Ford, the author outlines a blueprint for achieving prosperity. Through principles like desire, faith, and persistence, you will learn to harness the power of your consciousness as an important tool for wealth accumulation.
How to Win Friends and Influence People, by Dale Carnegie
A cornerstone of self-improvement literature on effective communication and relationship-building. With practical advice and real-life examples, you will discover the keys to winning people over, handling conflicts, and becoming more influential.
Whether professionally or in your personal relationships, this book aims to equip you with essential social skills for building meaningful connections.
That is it, friends. Embrace the remaining months of 2023 with an open heart and an open book. Happy reading!
